About Claire
I'm Claire and I've been gardening for over 20 years anywhere I can.
Unlike a lot of experts, I didn't come from a traditional gardening background. I'm an RHS qualified horticulturalist, trained at Royal Botanic Gardens, Edingburgh and Sparsholt College, Hampshire. I'm always going on extra geeky courses to carry on my learning to pass it on to my clients . I love making things simple, easy and effective for modern living.
I have a strong eye for design, a passion for living sustainably and a belief that gardening is for everyone, regardless of skills, ability and background.
I've taken on established but unloved gardens and turned them into joyful spaces without expensive or unsustainable redesigns. I've dealt with the aftermath of house extensions, the barenness of new builds and everything in between.
I'm always up for tackling poor quality soil, weed infestation, unsightly views, or bad landscaping. I give clients the confidence to tackle these challenges and many others head on.
You can find out about me on the WorkJoy Podcast, hosted by Beth Stallwood.
I'm also an accredited Member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, and various geeky groups such as the Hardy Plant Society.
I believe in giving back to my community and the world - that's why my own garden is twinned to provide training in sustainable agriculture to a family in rural Migori, Kenya for a three-year period. I'm active in local sustainability initiatives such as Sustainable Overton and community planting initiatives.
